ABOUT
An upcoming documentary-led storytelling project following the people working on the frontline to protect Barbados’ critically endangered hawksbill sea turtles.
Production is planned to take place during the 2027 nesting season.
THE PROJECTEvery year, hawksbill sea turtles return to the beaches of Barbados to nest, while dedicated conservation teams work to protect them and give the next generation the best possible chance of survival.
In 2027, Studio 11 plans to work alongside the Barbados Sea Turtle Project to document this extraordinary story.
Through cinematic documentary filmmaking and digital storytelling, the project will aim to capture not only the beauty of the Hawksbill turtle, but also the people dedicating their lives to protecting them.
The story will explore the challenges they face, the work taking place on the ground, and the hope that comes from people working together to protect a species for future generations.

Documentary Film
A 10-15 minute cinematic documentary is planned, following the people and conservation work behind the protection of Barbados’ hawksbill sea turtles.

Short-Form Content
The production will also create a library of cinematic short films, reels and social content, allowing individual stories and moments captured during filming to reach wider audiences across digital platforms.

Impact & Education
The content will be designed to inform, inspire and encourage action, supporting greater awareness of hawksbill sea turtles and the importance of their conservation.

Creative Partnerships
Studio 11 will seek to work alongside conservation organisations, local communities, creatives and aligned partners to help tell the story and increase its potential reach and impact.
